Racoș photo tour - part II.

Next up was the wonderful lake mine .... it was a nice view ... the deeper parts of the lake has a nice turcoaz color...

Finally we arrived to our main objective... the volcano itself, where - as Eduard expressed - is like walking on planet Mars ... the view is like from an other planet ... the mix of colors from black to yellow stunned me, I stood there a few minutes without taking any photos,... but the sun was on its way down, first I thought ....., quickly,..... take some shots, until the harsh shadows will appear and ruin the images.

.... but then, with help from the intensive yellowish light from the sunset, the colors really started to  pop out...

It was a nice place to visit and I recommend you to do so, you will thank me later.
After this wonderful sunset and a nice off-roading we visited the 900 year old oak, which is probably the oldest oak in eastern Europe, as showed in a few posts earlier, or HERE
It was a superb trip with nice friends, good conversations and fantastic views. Special thanks to Eduárd, who planned the whole trip.
If you want to see more of this photo tour please visit Eduárd's blog HERE and Boti's blog HERE ... wonderful shots, don't miss them!
 THANKS GUYS!!!

Racoș photo tour - part I.

As mentioned in the previous post, we traveled for a photo tour near  Racoș. We arrived late for the sunset, so we went to find something to eat and we were back in business. 30 second expo with my friend Boti illuminating the foreground. My favorite shot from that night.
Next day we where in a hurry, because we where late for the sunrise and the way to Tepej peak was not the easiest. Tepej peak was our first interest point .... shooting the sunrise, so....20 minute after the reddish lights first painted the bottom of the clouds I made my first shot. It was a hard climb...
.... and the other side of the peak....
....also I made a nearly impossible shot with my 24-105 mm lens @105, the Fogaraș mountains from a distance of 70 km ....but after a bit of post-processing the result is acceptable...
.... next stop the quarrys near Racoș ....and it started raining....

....then Eduárd had a brilliant idea, to visit the wonderful Dakt valley  .... after the rain we where astonished by the popping colors .... no need for pot processing saturation here....

We spent an hour or so in the valley, the weather got better and better so we went back to our main objective....the mines....first the basalt columns ....

Boti found a nice spot so we all got up there to take the shot from the "eagle's nest" .... in the background the biggest peak is the Tepej peak from where we shot the sunrise earlier ....
.... to be continued!

Possible the oldest oak in Transylvania

"Mercheasa Oak" near Mercheasa village (Brasov county, Romania).  It is understood to be over 900 years old, the trunk has a girth of 9.3 meters and has a height of over 21 meters. This weekend I went out with my fellow comrades Andras Eduard and Kakasy Botond to a photo trip near Racoș (Brasov county) area. Thank you guys for the wonderful time!
